Boyce Baxter Barbee, 93, passed away on January 16, 2015. He was born to the late Burrell B. Barbee and Sarah A. Barbee on October 3, 1921 in Concord, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Collins Barbee, brothers; Gordon, Bill, Carl, and Ralph, and sister, Christine Rourk.

He will always be remembered for his ability to make friends, wherever he went. Boyce was a humble and kind man, which drew people to him. He enjoyed spending time at Oak Island with his wife, Anne. They loved to travel all over the country, wearing out three Winnebago's in the process. He was proud of the work he accomplished while working with Fieldcrest Mills and the textile industry.

Boyce enjoyed gardening and there was always enough room for one more tomato plant in his garden. He was a very generous man. One of his pleasures was sharing the yields from his garden. Boyce's coffee cup was rarely empty. The Praise Choir at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church always made him smile.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Raleigh. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Raleigh. He proudly served in the U. S. Army Air Corp., as a radio operator on a B-24 Bomber and military honors will be present. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Mint Hill, North Carolina, Friday, January 23,2015 at 2:00 p.m.
