Graveside services for Ruby Doreen Gregg, age 75, of Gun Barrel City, formerly of Como, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Como Cemetery with Bro. C.J. Duffey officiating and Ernest Ponder, Casey Brown, David Williams, and Cody Gregg serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Davis. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., prior to service, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Doreen passed away on April 24, 2021 at UT Health in Tyler. She was born on April 11, 1946 in Gordonville, TX, the daughter of Elmer Lee Allen and Emma Gene Higgins. She graduated from Lancaster High School and later retired from Ocean Spray where she worked as an operator for 25 years. She was a big animal lover, she loved to garden, and she also loved spending time with her family. Doreen is survived by sons, Richard D. Steele and wife Cinthia of Houston, Allen Steele and wife Shannon of Gun Barrel City, Cody Gregg and wife Ashley of Winnsboro, daughter, Wendy Brown of Winnsboro, eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William "Bill" Gregg, daughter, Emily Steele, and brother, Ervin Allen.
