LANDRY Edward A. "Ed" Landry, a highly decorated Veteran of the U.S. Army who proudly served our country during World War II, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Sophamae Dean Landry and by previous marriage, the late Paula Crane Landry and the late Rosemay Schroder Landry. Loving father of Lynn Dazzo, Shawn Hall, Wayne Landry, Larry Landry and Steven Landry. Father-in-law of John Dazzo, Brad Hall, Susan Landry and Marylynn Landry. Son of the late Marie Voorhies Landry and the late Rumsey Gordon Landry. Brother of Gordon Landry and the late Joyce Luccia. He was the proud grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 1. He is also survived and fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he enjoyed his membership as Treasurer of several bowling leagues, including the American League, Edgewood Mixed, Guys & Dolls, Imperial Senior Citizens and Packenham Seniors League. He was also a member of the AARP local 3926 and Membership Chairman of the AARP local 4420. He was a graduate of Warren Easton class of 1941 and attended Loyola University 1946 - 1950. Before his retirement, Ed served as the Accounting Department Manager for Biehl & Co. from 1950 - 1974 and as Chief Accountant for Peterson Maritime Services from 1960 - 1988. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and brother, who treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA, on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 9:00 AM. A FUNERAL MASS will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Donations to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, c/o North Oaks Hospital, 16013 Herbert Lane, Hammond, LA 70403, preferred.
