Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late John and Dena Troyer. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Harold Bergey, Sr.; two infant sons, including John David Bergey; her siblings, Alvin Troyer, Atlee Troyer, Malinda Miller, Edna Miller, Lizzie Borntrager, Fannie Teague, and her daughter in law, Rose Bergey. Professionally and personally, Mrs. Bergey's life was marked with many accomplishments. Her greatest passions were her marriage of 66 years, her family and her faith.
Survivors include seven children, Harold, Leonard (Elsa), Kathy Mast (Dale), Floyd (Debbie), Daniel (Dorcas), Joy Morris (Mike), and Lynn (Lori); nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two more on the way! as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Mennonite Church, Chesapeake. Rev. Nevin Mast will officiate. Friends are invited to pay their respects and to sign the guest book from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00p.m., Saturday at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake.
