DORA THERRIEN
(nee DESROCHERS)

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Dora Therrien, on May 24, 2019. With her family by her side, Mom passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 79.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roger, in 1997; parents, Albany and Annette Desrochers; and her sister Lorette McPherson.
Dora leaves in mourning her son Gilles (Nicole); grandson Matthew; sister Adrienne (David) McQuade; brother Ovila (Roberta) Desrochers, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dora was born in the small rural town of Mariapolis where she grew up on a farm nearby with her two sisters and her brother. This is where she met Roger and they were married in 1956. They eventually moved to Winnipeg where she worked for 25 years at the College St. Boniface.
Mom and Dad loved camping and she loved sharing the stories of their travels in the motorhome. Mom spent many hours baking, listening to French music, playing cards, and a crossword puzzle book was always nearby.
Her biggest love was her grandson Matthew. He was "The Best" she would always say. They shared a special bond.
Mom spoke fondly of all her lasting friendships that she made over the years. We are grateful for the time you all spent with her.
A special thank you to Josh (home care coordinator) and his staff, Rhonda and staff at the Cathedral Manor for looking after Mom's needs for the past three years.
Mom, Memere, we will miss you dearly.
Heaven has received another beautiful angel.
Now you and Dad can continue on your camping trips in heaven together.

A memorial service will be held at the St. Boniface Cathedral on Friday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Glen Memorial Gardens.
