Beloved husband of Rae. Loving father of Robert D. (Debra), Vicki (the late Bill) Furman, Tod (Julie), and the late Dale. Dear grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 14. Dear brother of the late Dottie (Lloyd) Johnson.

Robert was the founder of the Garden City Festival. He also was active in starting the Neighborhood Watch Program. He loved working with wood, stained glass and Intarsia. He also loved driving the bus for Senior Citizens and Special Education children through Nankin Transit. He also enjoyed square dancing, travelling in his R.V., and his seasons spent in Valle del Oro, in Mesa, Arizona with his friends.

Visitation will be at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Rd., Garden City Friday from 2-9 pm., and in-state at St. John's Episcopal Church, 555 S. Wayne Rd., Westland, Saturday from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am.
