Funeral service for James McDonald, age 78, Alex, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. in the Alex Southern Baptist Chapel. Rev. John Watts and Rev. Jerry White will officiate.

James McDonald was born Jan. 22, 1919 in Mountain Park, Okla., the son of Oscar Livingston McDonald and Emma Pauline Halls McDonald, and died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at his home.

He married Oza Ree Lucas on April 12, 1941, in Lawton.

Mr. McDonald has lived in the Alex area all of his life. He had been a farmer and rancher since 1944.

James was a member, trustee, and church leader of the Alex Southern Baptist Chapel.

He was also a United States Army veteran of World War II, and served as a communication instructor in Neosho, MO.

James was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Oza Ree Lucas McDonald, of the home; five daughters, Emma Lee White, of Webber Falls, Peggy Ann Wolfe, of Stillwater, Jimmie Ree Robertson, of Chickasha, Sherry West, of Del City, and Tamara Freed, of Claremont, Calif.; sister, Minnie Dempsey, of Snyder; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the McDonald Family Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
