Mark Edward Abbott, 63, of Hookstown, passed away Friday morning, March 26, 2021, under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice in the Beaver Medical Center.

He was born October 6, 1957, a son of Georgia Anna Thomas Abbott of Hookstown and the late Clarence E. Abbott.

A 1976 graduate of the South Side Beaver High School, he worked as a laborer on the bridge crew for PennDOT in Rochester for 35 years.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, especially waterfowl.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his brother, Doug Abbott and wife Michelle of Hookstown; a sister, Linda Nield and husband Mark of Westerville, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Brandon Abbott, Nicole Shively and husband Kevin, Brian and Cameron Nield; and two great-nephews, Everett Shively and Dawson Gardner.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, with the Rev. Kenn Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.

Everyone visiting the funeral home and attending the services are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing for the safety of the family, staff, clergy and themselves.
