Youth Killed When Car Runs Off Road Sunday Afternoon
LeRoy Dean Wehmeyer, 17, of the Selma district, died in the Fowler Hospital at 5:20 p.m. Sunday two hours following an automobile accident of Fowler Avenue south of Flora Avenue. His car is reported to have run off the highway and overturned.
The youth is believed to have been traveling north when the car ran off the road and struck a bank, throwing him out.
The youth moved to California with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Gilbert Wehmeyer, six years ago.
Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Winona Arnold of Iowa, Mrs. Doris Huffman of Laton and Mrs. Wanda Riddle of Layton, and a brother, Darrell Wehmeyer, of Iowa.
Funeral services were held yesterday in the Jorgensen Funeal Home in Fowler and interment was in the Fowler Cemetery.
