Emily was born at Santiam City, Oregon which was damaged in the Santiam River flooding of Dec. 1861; the George W Johnson family moved to nearby Jefferson, Oregon at the time of flood. Her mother died about two months after her birth in 1859 in Santiam City. She was married to Thomas Jefferson Harrison in 1883 at Dufur, Wasco County, Oregon by the Reverend Andrew Dufur with her brother, Harrison Henry Johnson, and his wife Eliza Darnielle Johnson, as witnesses. She died Jan. 12, 1912 at the home of her daughter, Hazel Francis Harrison Rhodes in Spokane, Washington.
