Services were to be held Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Chancellor Reformed Church in Chancellor for Elsie Fetzner who, having been in failing health, died at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 21, 2007. She attained the age of 96 years, three months and 29 days.

Pallbearers were Bob Wrage, Darrell Smit, Robert Koller, Dick Gors, Jim Wrage, and Larry Christensen. Interment was held in the Hurley Cemetery.

Elsie Marie Fetzner was born on a farm near Hooker, South Dakota on June 22, 1911, the daughter of Julius and Cacelia (Gosch) Wrage. She grew up near Hooker and attended Rieman #25 country school and then graduated from Davis High School.

On March 28, 1931 she was united in marriage to Milton J. Fetzner at Harrisburg United Methodist Church. They farmed north of Davis until retiring and moving into Davis. Her husband died in 1979.

Elsie moved to Lennox where she lived at Sunrise Manor until 2000 when she became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Assisted Living and then Nursing Home in Viborg.

She had been a member of the Davis United Methodist Church and the Live and Learn Extension Club.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: August, Jennings, Theodore, Roy, Walter, Fritz and Henry; seven sisters: one in infancy, Etta, Ida, Julia, Mae, Minnie and Tressa. She was the last surviving member of the Julius Wrage family.

Grateful for having shared her life are her great-nephew and niece, Darrel and Helen Smit of Chancellor; several nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces; great-great-nephews and nieces and great-great-great-nephews and nieces.
