Funeral services for William R. "Billy" Eppinette, age 51, of Bastrop, will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Bo Horne and Rev. Sam Emanuel officiating. Interment will follow at the Carter Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. Thursday, October 25th at Cox Funeral Home.

William Robert " Billy" Eppinette was born July 25, 1956 in Bastrop and he died October 23, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis V. Eppinette. Billy was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Bastrop, a 1974 graduate of Bastrop High School, and a member of N.A.P.U.S., the National Association of Postmasters of the United States. He was a twenty eight year employee of the United States Postal Service beginning his career as a clerk and carrier in Bastrop. After moving into management, Billy served as an Officer-in-Charge or Postmaster at Epps, Collinston, Mangham, Delhi, and Mer Rouge. During this time he served on several details which included financial audit teams, job performance, and safety audits.

Billy is survived by his wife Tina Barfield Eppinette; a daughter, Jamie Eppinette Whitehead and her husband, William Whitehead of Monroe; his mother, Mabel Eppinette of Bastrop; a brother, Lynn E. Eppinette and wife Vivian Eppinette of Bastrop; nephew, Chance Eppinette and wife Tabatha Eppinette; great-nephew, Brock Eppinette; great-niece, Bradie Eppinette; father and mother-in-law, James and Thelma Barfield of Collinston; sister-in-law, Terri Foster and husband Jeff Foster of Collinston; a special mother, Ruth Outlaw of Bastrop, and numerous family and friends.
