Services were conducted Monday afternoon, Jan. 12, from the Duck Hill Baptist Church for Jesse Eugene Heath, Duck Hill merchant & farmer, who died at his residence there Sunday Morning.

The Rev. J.M. Metts, assisted by the Rev. W.M. Hull & the Rev. E.R. Henderson offiated with burial following in the Duck Hill cemetery, Masonic rites were held at the graveside.

Mr. Heath who was born March 20, 1880, was born & reared in Carroll Co., the son of Jesse & Sara Little Heath. He was a deacon in the Duck Hill Baptist Church, teacher of the Men's Bible Class, & active in the Baptist association. Mr. Heath often filled the pulpit as a lay preacher, & contributed many articles to the Baptist record.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lula Gant Heath; 5 sons, Vardaman Heath, of Duck Hill; Lunsford Heath, Baptist minister of Jacksonville, Fla.; 3 in the Navy, Sisson Heath of New Port, R.I., on duty in Italy, Grannville Heath of Long Beach, Calif, & George B. Heath of Memphis; several daughters, Mrs. J.C. Leverette of Duck Hill, Mrs. W.C. Martindale of Jacksonville. Fla., Mrs James Carpenter of Greenwood, Mrs. M.P. Tuberville of Memphis, Mrs. Marshall Stafford of Winona, Mrs. Joe Barnett of Carthage, Miss, & Mrs Arnie Plunk of Memphis, & 1 sister Mrs. Will Harbin of Grenada, Miss.
