Clifford was born in Troy, New Hampshire in 1907 to Nelson and Harriett (Marrotte) Abare. His parents were farmers, but Clifford went to work in the blanket mill.

He married Ruth Patnaude.

The 1930's were hard times. Sadly, on June 8, 1938 he was brought to the State Hospital in Concord, NH. He lived 4 days, and died on June 12, 1938. The doctor, Arthur Howard, did a Wasserman test and checked spinal fluid to verify diagnosis.

At the age of 31 years, 4 months and 1 day, Clifford Abare died of general paresis (caused by advanced syphilis, resulting in dementia and paralysis).

The attending physician called the mortician, and Clifford was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery.
