Old Time Resident of Western Cass County Hears the Final Summons to Rest

Cornelia L. Prouty was born in Mahaska County, Iowa on February 27, 1863. She came to Nebraska with her parents in 1874 and settled near Alvo where she made her home ever since.

On March 18, 1879, she was united in marriage to Mr. George P. Foreman. They made their home inthe vicinity of Alvo where to this union were born twelve children, eight boys and four girls. Nine of these children survive her, little Helen leaving this world while only one year old and Lemuel and Noel departing during recent years. Of the children who survive her Mrs. Minnie Whitman resides in Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Grace Thuresson, in Riverside California; Mrs. Aurel Hord in Central City, Nebraska; Albert and George P. Jr., in Valparaiso, Nebraksa; Joseph M. in Counci Bluffs, Iowa; and Oris Q., John D. and Charles T. living at Alvo. Her husband together with one sister, Mrs. Julia Greer of Delia Alberta, Canada and three brothers Merrit of Long Beach, California; Merian of Salem, Oregon and Fred of Alvo survive her.

She was united with the church in her early girlhood the records showing that she united with the church of Alvo on October 5, 1889. She passed to the better land at 7PM on Saturday evening January 9, 1926, at her home in Alvo.
