Kay Margaret Adams, 78, of Pigeon, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Kay was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Bad Axe to the late Denson and Viola (Schultz) Smith. She graduated from Pigeon High School in 1956. She retired from Genesee Memorial Hospital after 20 years as a ward clerk. She was a caregiver to many, and will be remembered for kindness and her friendship. She loved baking and her dogs. Kay was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church. She is survived by her brother Richard Smith of Caseville; sister Wilma D'Anna of Ferndale; former husband Melvin Adams; 23 nieces and nephews; 33 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 23 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Vincent and Terry Smith and sisters Diane Honaker and Sharon Hartz. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Pigeon River Mennonite Church with Rev. David Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the service time at the church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Pigeon RiverMennonite Church.
