Mr. Troy was born on June 2, 1945, in Pikeville, TN, to parents, the late Mr. Woodford Troy and the late Mrs. Alberta Blankinship. Mr. Troy was a 3rd Class Petty Officer for the United States Navy. He was a hardworking man that worked as a brick mason for many years, and most recently, he retired as a mechanic with Gulf View Hauling. Mr. Troy enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns, staying active and working. He loved eating pinto beans & taters and having dinners at Happy Hawg BBQ. Mr. Troy cherished his quality time spent with his grandsons and his family and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mr. Troy is survived by his daughters, Jo (Richard) Mahan and Leigh Anne Troy; grandchildren, Parker, Hunter and Jackson; siblings, Tom Troy, Velma Paden and Ann Reeves. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Troy was preceded in death by his siblings, Brenda Williams, Ellen Holland and Joe Troy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Cochran Ridge Baptist Church in Hiram, GA. with Rev. Jeff Childers officiating. The family will be meeting at the church at 12:00 PM where Mr. Troy will lie in state at the church from 12:00 PM until the hour of the service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
