Collins H. Howlett, III, of South Richmond, departed this life October 14, 2007.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Philmore Howlette.

He is survived by his wife, Sallie Howlett; two daughters, Coleen Fripps (Frederick) and Eva Carter (McKinley); three sons, Michael Cobbs (Sandra), Collins Howlett, Ronald Howlett (Shirl); 29 grand and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jackie Thornton, Portia Turner, Eva Williams (Paul) and Brenda Melvin (Matthew); two sisters-in-law, Faye and Margaret Howlette; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, among them Alfred Harris, Sherwood Branch, and Robert Howlett, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Remains rested at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Streets. Funeral services held Thursday, October 18, 2007, 1pm at the First Baptist Church, South Richmond. Dr. Dwight C. Jones, pastor, officiated. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
