Homer Forrest Arrington, age 88, of Cedartown, GA., passed away Wednesday, January 20, 1999 in an out of town hospital. Mr. Arrington was born October 4, 1910 in Cherokee County, Ala. and was a member and Deacon of New Harmony Baptist Church. He was a retired G. E. Machine Operator, Mason, and member of Mt. Signal Lodge in Rock Run, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louella Johnson Arrington and Willard W. Arrington. Survivors include his wife, Alma B. Peek Arrington; sons and daughters-in-law, Herschel and Gere Arrington, Bobby and Barbara Arrington, Steve and Janice Arrington, Donnie and Lynn Arrington; three sisters, Katie Harrison, Edna Dempsey and Jewell Tuck; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 23, 1999, from New Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. Dewayne New and Charles Drummond officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. Pallbearers included Will Van Kleef, Craig Arrington, Brent Arrington, Scott Arrington, Brian Arrington, Neil Short, and Jeff Arrington. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons and former pastors. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
