Lavenia's father was Ambrose McGinnis and her mother was Charlotte E Cobb-Looney. Lavenia was named after her Grandmother (Lavenia Edwards Cobb). Lavenia had one sister (Dovie F.), four bothers (John T., William J., George W. and Richard Lee) and half sister (Ida E Shephard) and one half brother (Dallas C Shephard). She married John H McGinnis on January 10, 1886. They had seven children, my grandfather Thomas Henry 1888, Walter Lee 1890, Jessie 1896, Emma M 1900, Addie F 1903, Artie 1904 and Robert C 1910. In the last years of her life she lived with her son Jessie in Cherokee County, Alabama.
