Thomas Joseph “Tom” Holleran, age 90, of Moore Haven, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Gulf Coast Hospital, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born in Bracken County, Kentucky, on March 21, 1919, to the late Jerry S. “Pop” and Elsie Gorman Holleran. He was a member of Our Lady Queen-Heaven, in La Belle, Florida, and a former member of Saint James Catholic Church, in Brooksville, Kentucky. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Langlois Holleran, of Moore Haven; a brother, John Holleran, of Brooksville, Kentucky; four children, Don Holleran, of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Ellen Holleran, Larry Holleran and Alan Holleran, all of Brooksville, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, Donald Holleran, Angie Pierce, Matthew Holleran, Charles Pollitt, Becky Ware, Eddie Pollitt, Tommy Pollitt, Danny Holleran, Cathy Stewart, Cindy Cooper and Scott Holleran; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Ellen Holleran and Mary Rita Appelman; two brothers, Jerry Holleran and Dan Holleran; and two grandchildren, Jimmy Pollitt and David Holleran.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, at Saint James Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
