Jehial was a beloved husband to Catherine (Wormuth) Gaylord, who passed away after an extended illness. After two years, he married Emma Byron Cole (2nd wife), who survived him. Their first child, Romayne Adelbert Gaylord (buried near his father and Catherine) became quite ill and passed away. Their remaining son, Burr Harlow Gaylord, left the area sometime in the 1920's to Cattaraugus County, New York.
