Truck Mishap Is Fatal To Madison Man

WAYNES VILLE - Clarence Wade Meadows, 24, of spring Creek, died Saturday night in an Asheville hospital of injuries received in a Madison County highway accident May 4. Officers' reported Meadows was riding in a truck operated by Roy Plemmons on the highway between Hot Springs and Spring Creek at the time of the mishap. Plemmons lost control of his machine, which left the highway and overturned, pinning Meadows beneath the cab, officers said.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County, was engaged in farming and was the son of W. A. and Martha Buchanan Meadows. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m. in Liberty 'Baptist Church at Spring Creek.

The Rev. Eugene Moore will officiate and burial will be in the church ceme tery. - The body will be taken to the home Sunday at 2 p. m. and remain there until the funeral hour. Surviving are the widow, Mrs Edith Caldwell Meadows; one daughter, Marjie Marie Meadows: one son,-Glenn Meadows; the parents, all of Spring Creek.

Also four sisters. Mrs. Lena Moore; of Greeneville. Term:. Mrs. Willie; West, Mrs. Myrtle Coward and Mrs. Frances Riddle of Spring; Creek; -three brothers. Dayton of, Shelby. Gradion of Raleigh and Hayden of Spring Creek.
