Sylvia "Nanny" Melendez, age 78, a resident of Pomona for the last 7 years
and previously a 50 year resident of El Monte went to be with the Lord on
September 17, 2020.

Nanny was born in Tucson, Arizona to Henry and Amelia Otero on July 28,
1942. She had so much love for her family and friends. What she loved most
was the holidays and spending time with her family.

Nanny is survived by her daughters Lisa Mussenden, Patsy Shidi, Debbie
Melendez-Garcia, Sylvia Melendez, Pixie Castaneda, and her only son Chuy
Melendez who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her grandchildren Jackie, Anthony, Melissa, Gabriel,
Daniel, Amyn Jr., Gilbert, Ramon, Michael, Ruben, Jennifer, Jeanette,
Cassidy, Ryan, and Mariah, and 20 great grandchildren, along with numerous
family and friends who will love and miss her always. She had two brothers and six sisters, some which preceded her in death. She also had two grand-daughters who proceeded her in death, Jessica and Jassmine, who she missed tremendously.

She touched so many hearts in her life. She will forever be in our hearts.
