She was born December 18, 1927 to John and Chloia Newsom in South Webster Ohio.
Erma, affectionately known as “Lady”, was a strong, caring woman with unlimited love for her family. She spent her life reaching out to others with friendship and generosity. Many remember receiving her wonderful pies, cakes and jams. She and her husband Carl lived 50 happy years in Hiram, Ohio, where they worked and raised their children. They loved their home in the country. Erma made many friends while working at the Hiram Co-Op store and later managing the Hiram College Bookstore. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and Carl moved to St. Simons Island, Georgia in 2005 where she continued to make more friends and take care of stray cats.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Carl and their daughter Beverly.
She is survived by her children; Bill (Evelyn), Troy (Mila), Larry (Alison) and Sharon, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
