Prime Minister of Sudan. He served as the fifth Prime Minister of Sudan from October 30, 1964 to June 2, 1965. He was acting Prime Minister from November 16, 1964 to December 3, 1964. Although his nation's politics were unstable during his short term, he is most known for his impact on education in Sudan. Born in Ed Dueim, White Nile state, Sudan, to al-Khalifa Hassan Ahmed and Nafisa al-Fakki Alabead, he was trained as a teacher. In 1937, he graduated from Gordon Memorial College before he graduated from Oxford University in England in 1944. He served in the military during the First Sudanese Civil War. From 1966 to 1969, he served as ambassador to Italy and then the United Kingdom. In 1973, he was appointed as Minister of Education, assuming this position for two years, until he was appointed in 1982 as President Advisor on Educational Affairs until 1985. He married, and he had a son and four daughters. He authored the textbook, which was used in primary schools, "Means of Earning a Living in Sudan."
