Mrs. Jane Z. Abbattista, born November 4, 1931 in Syracuse, NY., passed away in Hiawassee, GA., at the age of 89. Jane was predeceased by her parents; John & Genevieve Zielinski, daughters; Mary Lynn & Carol Abbattista. Jane attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Syracuse, NY., where she was a cheerleader and straight A student. She worked for the N.Y. Telephone Company and also restored several homes with her husband all while raising her five children. Jane was a loving mother & grandmother and loved her Collie dogs. She also loved vacationing at their cottages in Canada and living in the Georgia Mountains. She enjoyed wathing Syracuse NCAA Basketball with her husband Carl, and travelled cross-country visiting her children and grandchildren and attended many of their sport events.

She will be remembered most for her wonderful sense of humor, wit, and feisty nature. She touched and inspired many with her love and passion for quilting. Each quilt was hand-made with unconditional love and patience. Jane will be greatly missed and eternally loved by her family and friends.

A private service will be held from the Mountain View Funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled Veteran’s Association in Jane’s memory.
