Lucille A. Marquis

Lucille A. Marquis, 90, of Washington, W.Va., passed away March 5, 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Pleasants County, a daughter of the late William L. Janes and Grace E. Kerns. She was a machine operator for American Viscose for 33 years. She also worked at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and numerous homes as a caregiver. She was a member of the Beechwood Heights Church of Christ and the Senior Citizens Group.

Mrs. Marquis is survived by two sons, Lewis Marquis and wife, Diane, of Moorefield, W.Va., and Larry Marquis and wife, Janet, of Stockport, Ohio; one daughter, Sonja Hoffman and husband, Tom, of New England, W.Va.; one stepson, Wayne Marquis of Philadelphia, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Nora Rushing of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including, Charlene Fulton and husband, Richard, and their children, Shana and Christy, with whom she made her home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Warren A. Marquis; one stepson, Richard Marquis; one brother, Charles Janes; two sisters, Maxine Janes and Charlotte Hedrick; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two stepsons, Robert Marquis and Warren Marquis Jr.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
