Funeral services for Neil Atchison, 70, of Levelland will be 2p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Levelland with the Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of George Price Funeral Home of Levelland.

He passed from this life Monday, May 9, 2005, after a lengthy illness.

Neil, a lifelong resident of Hockley County, was born May 12, 1934. He graduated from Levelland High School in 1951 and attended Texas Tech University and Eastern New Mexico University. He married Kay Russell Aug. 23, 1953 in Levelland. He was actively engaged in farming and related industries his entire life, most recently as manager of Center Point Gin in Levelland, until retiring after 27 years. Neil volunteered as superintendent of weights at the Hockley County Junior Livestock Show, where he loved participating with the children and their animals. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.
