Mr. Finley died Monday at his home.
He was born July 3, 1915, in Kingman. After living for a short while in Oskaloosa, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where he owned Finley's Shoes and The Bootery. He lived in Anchorage for 40 years before he retired in 1987 and returned to Oskaloosa.
Mr. Finley served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 36 in Oskaloosa, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and of the Elks Lodge in Anchorage.
He married Ellen Virginia Allen on March 24, 1940, in Port Orchard, Wash. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Larry John, Anchor Point, Alaska; a brother, John, Sheridan, Ore.; and a sister, Ellen Spielman, Orange, Calif.
