He was born in Mercer County to the late James Franklin and Dorothy Houchin Beasley. He was a graduate of Mercer County High School; member at Fairview Christian Church; US Army and Air Force veteran; and worked for the Department of Corrections as a warehouse supervisor.
Along with his wife he is survived by two sons, James Wade (Sylvia) Beasley, Shelbyville and William Franklin "Billy" Beasley, Burgin; daughter, Mary Evelyn (Jeremy Brown) Beasley, Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Alissa, Austin, Shelbi, and Sydney Beasley and Camden Dotson; nephew, Blaine Riley; and sister, Jean Ann Riley.
Jim was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Patrick Beasley and brother, Bobby Gayle Beasley.
Cremation was chosen.
