Alice Rose Lowder Jones passed away on November 24, 2020 at Spring Arbor of Thomasville where she lived with her husband.
She was born December 9, 1930 to Elmina Crump in Stanley County. Due to the hard depression times she was adopted at the age of 2 by Anna and Wesley Lowder who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Frank Howard (Dickie) Jones, Jr., granddaughter, April Diane Jones, brothers, David Crump (Molly), Herman Crump (Ruth), Lloyd Crump (Dot) and Cicero Crump; sister, Lois Howe (Herb) and brother-in-law, Don Sides.
Surviving are her devoted husband of 75 years, Frank Howard (Dick) Jones, Sr.; daughter, Carolyn Jones Townsend (Tony), daughter-in-law, Teddy Jones and partner Tim Beck, brother, Chase Crump (Nancy); sister, Bernice Sides; sister-in-law, Penny Crump; granddaughters, Michelle Townsend O'Bryant (Matt), Kristie Jones Milan and partner Jeff Byerly, Skylar Whitmire (Johnathan); great-grandchildren, , Collin O'Bryant, Nolan O'Bryant, Carter Milan, Cali Milan and Jackson Whitmire.
Mrs. Jones was a past member of First Baptist Church of Lexington, where she taught Sunday school. Prior to COVID 19 she regularly attended service at Spring Arbor led by pastor Don Falkner. Mrs Jones was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother, Her great joy in life was keeping each generation of grandchildren and teaching them about the bible, reading, music, manners and love of family.
A private virtual remembrance of Mrs Jones life is being given by Hospice Chaplain David Kolb with harp music played by her loving niece Martha Honeycutt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Spring Arbor for their loving care during her residency there. Also heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, caseworker and Chaplain of Hospice of Davidson County for their outstanding care and calls offering support and encouragement.
