LAWRENCE "EARL" ALVEY Lawrence Earl Alvey, 76, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at home. Earl was born March 1, 1941, in Louisville, .Ky, to Kempis Lee Alvey Jr. and Verna Izora Alvey. At the age of eight, his family moved to California. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He began with AT&T in 1964 and met Bobbie Estep the same year. They married June 19, 1965 in Las Vegas. They lived in California City, Calif. for 30 years raising their son, Jason. He served as Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 413 for 12 years and annually took them canoeing down the Colorado River. They moved to Las Vegas in 1996. He retired in 2005 after 41 years with AT&T. Earl developed an interest in his family's genealogy. Earl is survived by his wife, Bobbie Alvey; son, Jason Alvey of Las Vegas;brother, Gary (Marci) Alvey of Healdsburg, Calif.; sister, Carol Oberg of Chino, Calif.; grandchild, Timothy Alvey-Lajeunesse; great-grandchild, Seth Alvey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services are pending.
