Sister Marguerite was born in New York City, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Conroy) Goodwin. She entered the Sisters of Charity on March 25, 1944 and was a member for 63 years.
Sister Marguerite began her educational ministry in New Jersey at St. Michael High School in Union City. She was an instructor/professor at the College of St. Elizabeth in Florham Park for 40 years. She then served in various positions at the college before retiring to St. Anne Villa in Convent Station, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The wake for Sister Marguerite Francis will be held in St. Anne Villa in Convent Station, from 2-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Burial will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Holy Family Cemetery in Convent Station at 10 a.m. Source: Daily Record, Morris Cnty, NJ.
