George was born in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, MA. to Peter J. and Mary Ann (Trainor) Rice. George grew up in Leicester and Worcester, MA. and graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. in 1934. He married Eleanor Barbara Savage in Worcester, MA. on August 3, 1947 in a civil ceremony and the marriage was solemnized in Sacred Heart Church, Worcester, MA. on Nov. 22, 1947. He was employed as an assistant foreman at Wyman-Gordon Co. for 30 yrs and retired in 1970. George and Eleanor had 3 children and made their home in Boylston , MA. George died of arteriosclerotic heart disease at age 67 yrs.
