Charles was 1st Lietenant and Adjatant in the 57th Regiment Ohio Vol. Inf. His brother Wilson Wright Brown was the engineer on Andrews raid and recieved Medal of Honor for it. His other brother Miller Brown was in Co. "A" 57th Ohio Inf. His father was in war 1812 and another brother was in Spanish American War.The engine, "the General" is in Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, GA which is affiliated with the Smithsonian Museum.
