Martha Ann Baker was born July 15, 1838, the daughter of Hugh and Isabelle Fickle. She married Clark L. Baker on August 26, 1858. They had 10 children, of whom only two survived, Nancy Baker Newhard and Edward E. Baker. The others are also buried in Oxford Cemetery. Clark and Martha Baker owned several properties and lived on one in Sec. 25 south of Pettit Rd. near the Clinton county line. Martha and Clark were members of the Dayton Memorial Church.
