James Clinton Adams, 54, of Carter Grove Rd., died Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

The funeral service will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Files Chapel Baptist Church with visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Thursday from 1:00pm until 8:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born in Gaffney, SC on December 15, 1960, to A.W. Littlejohn and Betty Joe Dukes Holmes and was reared by his grandparents, Joe and Mattie Watkins. He was employed with the City Of Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents and two sisters, Joannie Dukes and Danna H. Smalley.

James leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia B. Adams; four sons: Devin Adams, Christopher Adams, James Adams Jr. and Melvin Baldwin; a daughter, Brittany (Donald) Ashley; three grandchildren; his father, A.W. Littlejohn; his stepfather, Bennie Holmes; brothers: Jeffrey Dukes, Marlon (Kisha) Holmes; three sisters: Valerie Watkins, Nikkita Watkins and Cathy Bobo; a step brother, Ray (Arlene) Banks and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
