William Lee Jones, of Suffolk, VA, died at his residence. A native of Nansemond County (Suffolk), VA, he was a graduate of East Suffolk High School and attended Bluefield State College (West Virginia). He was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served as a Warrant Officer. He was the first black bank teller in Alexandria, VA. He was employed at the Norfolk Naval Base for four years and was a member of Saint Timothy Baptist Church where he served on the Male Usher Ministry and Food Bank Ministry. He was also a member of the Suffolk Chapter, DAV and the 20-30 Military Retiree Club.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2005 at Saint Timothy Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA.
