James Hammock Beeland, 69, of Perry, died Friday, March 16, 1984, after a brief illness. Services were held Sunday in Perry United Methodist Church. Burial was in Perry Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Larry Roberts officiated.
Mr. Beeland, a native of Taylor County, had lived in Perry since 1980, having moved there from LaGrange. He was a retired district manager from Security Life Insurance Co. in LaGrange. He was a member of Perry United Methodist Church, the men's Bible Class, the Masonic Lodge No 35 of Free and Accepted Masons, Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Association of Retired Persons, where he served as Treasurer of the local organization. He was a WWII veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Borders Beeland of Perry; two sons, James Martin Beeland of Perry and Robert Clinton Beeland of Macon; a brother, Sidney R. Beeland of Cordele; and four grandchildren [named].

Watson-Hunt Funeral Home of Perry had charge of arrangements.
