Leland O. Race, 62, passed away Wednesday night at the family home at 1331 South 17th Street. He was a native of the Burlington Junction, Missouri, area and had been employed as a mechanic at Mound City, Missouri.

Survivors included his wife, Mrs. LuEtta Montgomery Race, of the home; two sons, Bob and Jim Race, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Diane Bolton, of Milton, Florida; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Olive Gray of St. Joseph and Mrs. Viola Gray of Atchison, Kansas; a stepson, Herbert E. Banks, of Kansas City, Kansas; a brother, J. Race, of Braddyville, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Williams of Hopkins, Missouri, and Mrs. Orpha Black of Burlington Junction.

Services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church at Burlington Junction. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery there.
