Gladys owned Barnwell Apple House and was a lifelong member of the Henderson County Curb Market. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, especially wildflowers. Gladys loved to work and enjoyed interacting with her customers. She loved her family dearly and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancye Vaughn (Phillip) of Chapin, SC; sons, Wayne Barnwell (Janet) of Hendersonville, Darrell Barnwell and Dean Barnwell (Tammy McGraw); daughter-in-law, Debbie Barnwell; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Ledbetter; brother, Homer Edmonds (Ruth) of Florida; sister-in-law, Pauline Edmonds (Joe); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Blackwell officiating.
