James Franklin "Bud" Adams, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Danville, Va. to the late Harry S. and Janie Hawkins Adams. Bud was the husband to Shirley Leonard Fisher Adams for 40 years.

Bud retired from Burlington Industries after 45 years of service, served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. He was very active in the church serving as a deacon, on the baptismal committee and a member of the Guiding Light Sunday school class.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Shirley, include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Teri Adams; stepson, Gary Fisher and wife Joni; stepdaughter, Karen Sharpe and husband Ron; sisters, Peggy Tingen, Gay Towne, Barbara Blaylock and husband Roy, and Juanita Carter; eight granddaughters, one grandson; and four great-grandchildren; and extended family, Drs. Paul and Hillary Carroll and their daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jane Scott.
