Aaron Michael Novakovich came into the world in a big way on Sept. 8, 1984, in Anchorage, weighing 10 lbs, 4 oz. From the moment of his birth, he was a happy soul who brought great joy to his family and those who knew him. Aaron attended Gladys Wood Elementary School, where he was famous for his exuberant woodchuck call. He continued on at Mears Middle School and Dimond High, and was a proud graduate of Save II in 2003. He participated in competitive soccer as a fearless goalkeeper, and excelled in many athletic activities. One of Aaron's great joys was being out in the great Alaska outdoors with his family: hiking, fishing, boating, snowmachining, jet skiing or four-wheeling, and the family cabin at Hock Lake was a special place that Aaron loved.

Aaron was blessed with a keen wit and great intellect, as all who associated with him through work or play were privileged to witness, along with his infectious smile and laugh. His professional career included working in the yard and shop at Marita Sea & Ski and Alaska Power Sports alongside his family. He took special pride in his oilfield career with Halliburton, working several years on Pioneer's Oooguruk Island project, as well as other locations throughout the world. After the downturn on the slope, Aaron worked with many of his family members at Legacy Funeral Homes for two years. After moving to Eastern Washington late last year, Aaron began a new career as a small engine tech.

Aaron is survived by his parents, Steve Novakovich (Deanne) and Debra Novakovich; his long-time girlfriend, Julie McLean; maternal grandmother, Betty Weed; grandfather, Steven Novakovich (Roma); siblings, Mindy Gustin (Steve), Ashley Kendall (George), Jeremy Novakovich (Erin), Aaron Knudsen, Adam Knudsen, Nicole Warren (Justin) and Noelle Knudsen; as well as several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces, and many, many life-long friends.

May he rest in peace.+
