Richard L. Gravitt, 83, of Coal Valley, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private funeral services will at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors by American Legion Post 246, Moline. Memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice.
Rich was born September 2, 1937 in Rock Island, the son of Arthur and Marie (Hinkel) Gravitt. He married Patricia Houghtaling on February 27, 1960.
Rich was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked at John Deere retiring on May 1, 1996. He enjoyed classic cars and trucks and loved his family which was everything to him.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; children, Jeff (Jan) Gravitt, Morton, IL, Cathy Gravitt, Nashville, TN and James (Candice) Gravitt, Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Krystle, Michael, Grant, Hailey and Greyson; great grandchildren, Olivia, Dominic, Lily and Ryan and sisters, Marge (Jerry) Maddox, Coal Valley, Sandy (Donny) Metzner, Coal Valley and Jan (Dick) Seibert, Moline.
