His marriageon Sept. 2, 1939, was to RuthShaffer in Lafayette.He was a self-employed contractor and a Buck Creek High School graduate, member of Elks Lodge at Garrett and former member ofI.O.O.F. Lodge at Delphi. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Michael Smith, Delphi, andStephen E. Smith, Phoenix, Ariz.;two sisters, Madeline Fetrow, West Lafayette, and Evelyn Liphard, Rt.3, Lafayette, and four granddaughters. One brother preceded him in death.Rev.
