GEORGE P. PORTER; BURLINGTON, Sept. 22 - George P. Porter, 71, died Sunday at his home after a long illness. He was born in Passadumkeag August 7, 1887, the son of Samuel and Mary Curtis Porter. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife Florence Sibley Porter of Burlington; seven daughters, Mrs. Pauline Williams of Bangor, Mrs. Daphine Shirley of Howland, Mrs. Elizabeth Bocker, Mrs. Elde Chubbuck and Mrs. Faye Wakefield all of Branford, Conn., Mrs. Azuba Tucker of Stony Creek, Conn., and Mrs. Jacqueline Palmer of Patten; two sons Oakley and Hugh both of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Fogg of Burlington and Mrs. Hope Shorey of Enfield; three brothers, Clarence of Lincoln and John and Charles of Lowell; 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Burlington Church Wednesday at 2 o'clock the Rev. Jerard Wilber officiating. Interment will be in the Lowell Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barton Funeral Home in Lincoln Tuesday.
