Gazette columnist, Mrs. Frick,
dies February 15 at Louisville
Mrs. Eva C. Richardson Frick, 76, of 9000 Preston Highway, Louisville, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15 (1977) at Suburban Hospital after an illness of over three months. She was the widow of Matthew J. Frick. / Born in Grayson County on December 30, 1900, she was the daughter of Daniel C. Richardson and Susan Kerr Richardson. She was first married to Elmer McGrew a Grayson County school teacher and tax commissioner, and World War I Veteran. He died several years ago. / She was a graduate of Leitchfield High School, a former school teacher and deputy tax commissioner. From 1959 to 1967 she was employed as reporter for WMTW Radio and as coordinator of the woman's news department. She has been employed by the Leitchfield Gazette since 1967. When living in Leitchfield she was active in the Leitchfield Woman's Club and other civic community projects. / Surviving are cousins, Lannie Richardson, Ola Drane, Mary Bruner and Ada Carter, all of Leitchfield, Charlie Mattingly of short Creek, Mrs. Lillie Metzner of Illinois, Wallace Mattingly, Dewey Richardson, Mrs. Ova Milby, and Mrs. Catherine Miller, all of Louisville. / Also surviving is a step-nephew, Ralph Hayes of Indiana; a nephew by marriage, Karl Stroble, and other members of the Matthew J. Frick family in Louisville. / Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 18, at Arch L. Heady-Ellis Chapel, Leitchfield, by the Rev. George Smith. Interment was in McGrew cemetery.
