Joseph Thomas McAlister was the husband of Lizzie Alton McAlister. They were married in Jonesboro, Ark.
He is the son of William B. McAlister. William's parents were David and Dicy Naub McAlister (married 1822 in Mississippi). David's father was John (Called Jack) McAlister (Alabama) was David's father.

Joe and Lizzie were devout members of the church of Christ in Gordonville, TX. He was a farmer and a very strict father.
