Robert T. Gass, a native of Greene County, died in a McKeesport hospital, Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21, 1947, at 4 o'clock. Mr. Gass, who had been in failing health for the past few years, was taken seriously ill last Friday and was then admitted to the hospital.

The deceased, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gass, was born near Garards Fort, on June 29, 1872. His wife, the former Alice Staggers, of near Jollytown, died in April, 1942. After their marriage they spent most of their life in Greene County, until their removal to Elizabeth, Pa., a few years ago. Mr. Gass was a retired steel mill worker.

He is survived by one son, David Edwin Gass, of Noble's Run, Pittsburgh, with whom he made his home. Also surviving are two grandsons, David and Robert Gass, and one sister, Anna, the wife of Rev. W. T. Hartley, of Mt. Pleasant. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
